Add11th Jun 2014 11:50AMZakarija Bacica built the water repository mentioned on page 15 of this document, and pictured on p 16, plate 9. We have a photograph of it when intact. Yes it was built to store water from the roof. However Bacica's did not ever have a store there! He and his wife Annie lived with her parents, Mate and Maria Alfirovich at the site where there are grapevines on both sides of the road. They lived there from 1909 or earlier, until 1938.
It is a shame that when doing this research, Mr Hensley did not ask Annie Bacica for details! She was born there and lived in the vicinity. Her son Milan Bacica was probably the last child to be born at Waihue (as they called it) in 1936, and could provide more detail.
