Christopher Dunn was the son of Robert Horatio Dunn and Mary Sophia Louisa Dunn (nee Matthews). This family lived at the 100 acre "Hill Farm", three and a half miles from Kaitaia township.
Christopher served in the South African War, in the Mangonui Mounted Rifles and overseas in WWI.
He married Mary Geddes in 1906. They had two sons, Christopher Francis and Robert James. Mary died only hours after giving birth to Robert. He married Sarah Shepherd in 1910. They had two daughters, Vivienne Maud and Elsa Rose.
